Mr. and Mrs. William Alfred Kelly Jr. of Rome, announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Patterson Kelly to Charles Harrison Steeves, of Atlanta. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Harrison Ross Steeves III of Blacksburg, Va.

Miss Kelly is a 1998 honor graduate of Darlington School. She debuted with the Rome Symphony Orchestra in 1999. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Hollins

University in Roanoke, Va. in 2002, where she graduated cum laude. Miss Kelly is employed at Stan Smith Events as Manager of Events and Client Services.

The bride-elect is the sister of Elizabeth Davis Kelly of Washington, D.C. and Jackson Bradford Kelly of Oxford, England. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Henry Selman Jr. of Rome, the late Thomas Henry Selman Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Alfred Kelly, senior.

Steeves is a 2002 graduate of Blacksburg High School in Blacksburg, Va. He graduated in 2008 from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature with a minor in psychology and concentrations in history and sociology. He is employed at Wells Fargo as a Small Business Banker.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Charles Jonas Cohen and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Ross Steeves Jr.

A spring wedding is planned in Rome. Invitations will be sent.
