Man facing felony charges for having drugs past jail guard line

A Rome man is facing a felony charge of having drugs past the Floyd County Jail guard line after deputies found suspected marijuana on him while he was being searched at the jail, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Jimmie Sellers II, 25, of 112 Hosea St., was arrested at a traffic stop at the intersection of South Broad and Pollock streets and ran from officers.

Police charged him with misdemeanor obstruction, parole violation and a child support violation before taking him to jail where the drugs were found.

In addition to the felony drug charge, Sellers is also facing a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.
