The bride is the daughter of TJ and Tonya Johnson of Rome. The groom is the son of Mike and Donna Laney, also of Rome.
The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. George Hollander of Gatlinburg, Tenn. The outdoor ceremony was held at a cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains.
The bride, given in marriage by her mother and step-father, was escorted to the altar by her step-father to “Marry Me.” She chose a strapless ivory satin gown with a fitted bodice adorned with ivory lace and beading, with a chapel-length train. She wore a crystal embellished tiara. She carried a bouquet of fresh flowers including red, with and burgundy roses.
Ashley Gresham, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Chad White of Calhoun ws the best man. Ayden Maddox, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.
A reception was held Oct. 6, 2012 at the Civic Center in Rome. The couple entered the reception and had their first dance to “Endless Love,” performed by Dr. Ray McKoy and Cameka Ware.
Refreshments included the bride’s double-tier cake with buttercream icing, adorned with fresh rose petals. The groom’s cake was a red velvet cake.
Following a honeymoon in the Great Smoky Mountains, the couple resides in Rome.
