The pace continued in the final 20 minutes as the Lady Cats captured win No. 11 on the season, 70-47.
Freshman Lady Cat Kiarra Parks led all scorers with 17 points in the road win. Alana Jones had 10 points, five assists and five steals.
First-year forward Alyssa Nichelson scored 10 points and grabbed 10 boards. Sierra Smith added 12 points.
Amy Dykstra led Covenant with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Georgia Northwestern used full-court pressure in the first half resulting in 30 Covenant turnovers. The Lady Cats would converted 18 steals in the defensive effort.
NJCAA Region XVII leading rebounder Odessa Person was absent from Wednesday’s roster as she continues to nurse a high-ankle sprain on her right leg.
She is listed as questionable for the Lady Cats’ next action Saturday at against city rival Georgia Highlands.
Georgia Northwestern (11-8, 4-0) will be defending their NJCAA Region XVII title in the postseason tournament Feb. 22-24 at Middle Georgia Tech in Warner-Robbins.

The GHC Lady Chargers earned win No. 17 on the season with a 67-51 win against Atlanta Metro College.
The Lady Chargers (17-4), (10-3) were led by Manon Cherubini with 19 points. Cherubini was 4-for-5 from the 3-point line, and was perfect at the free-throw line.
Shan’Taja Latimore chipped in 14 points, and Gabrielle Kendall scored 12.
The Lady Chargers return to action Saturday visiting Georgia Northwestern.
ATLANTA METRO MEN 75,
GHC 44
Jonathan Tinch scored 21 points, and Saiquan Terry added 18 points to lead the trailblazers of Atlanta Metro College to a 75-44 conference win over the Chargers of Georgia Highlands.
The Chargers were led by Matt Welch with 17 points followed by Caleb Martin with 10 points.
The Chargers host the Jets of South Georgia Tech on Wednesday.
