Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hughes of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Hughes, to Jacob Thrasher, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Thrasher of Rome.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Rome High School and a 2010 graduate of Converse College with a degree in English. She is currently employed at Starbucks. She is the sister of Megan Hughes of Gainesville and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Novian of Camden, Del.

The groom-elect is a 2007 homeschooling graduate and attended Asbury College. He is employed with Control Resources. He is the brother of Jordan Thrasher of Rome and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Thrasher of Rome and Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Lindsey of Rome.

The wedding is planned for Feb. 10 at St. Mary of Egypt Orthodox Church in Norcross.
