GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) — A 50-year-old Savannah, Ga., man has been sentenced to prison for 25 months and fined $2,000 for his plan to buy more than 100 kilos of marijuana in Mississippi.

The Sun Herald reports Raldo Booth was sentenced Wednesday on a plea agreement to a charge of interstate travel in aid of drug racketeering.

He was arrested in a sting in July in a parking lot in Gulfport. He had met with a so-called drug dealer in the same parking lot to discuss the purchase of at least 300 pounds of marijuana in April.

Booth was arrested July 14 when he returned to the restaurant and said he had only $20,000 for 50 pounds of marijuana, but would return with the rest of the money in two days.
