Darlington’s fine arts department will present the Rock ‘n’ Roll musical “Grease” Feb. 15-17 at the Rome City Auditorium.

Set in 1959, the story follows a group of teenagers at Rydell High School. Over the summer Danny Zuko (played by senior Will Warren) falls in love with Sandy Dumbrowski (played by junior Elizabeth Wilhoite). The musical picks up at the beginning of a new school year when some surprises shake up Rydell.

The score tries to recreate the sounds of early rock ‘n’ roll. Fans of the film will be able to hear their favorite numbers including “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin’,” “Look at Me I’m Sandra Dee,” “We Go Together,” “Born to Hand Jive,” “Beauty School Dropout,” “Sandy” and “There Are Worse Things I Could Do.”

The show runs Feb. 15-17 at the Rome City Auditorium, 601 Broad St. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday’s show will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for children, students and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at Kroger, Traditions of Rome, and all three divisions of Darlington School. They can be purchased from Wendy Payne at the Lower School; Pam Sullins at the Middle School; and Denise Evans, Ellen Ryan or Stephanie Fleming at the Upper School. They also may be purchased at the door. Reserved seats are $15 and must be purchased online at darlingtonschool.org/arts/musical.aspx
