Ken Magnusson and Carol Magnusson of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Brooke Magnusson, to Marshall F. Irwin III. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall F. Irwin Jr. of Rome, and Mary Irwin of Anniston, Ala.

Miss Magnusson is a graduate of Chattooga High School. She graduated from Georgia Northwestern Technical College where she received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Respiratory Care, and was inducted into the Lambda Beta National Honor Society for the Profession of Respiratory Care. She is employed with Floyd Medical Center as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

The bride-elect is the sister of Jason Magnusson of Dallas, Phillip Godfrey of Washington D.C., and the late Kevin Godfrey. She is the granddaughter of the late Rev. Hugh Chandler and Mrs. Stella Mae Thomas and the late Mr. Jessie Carlton “Buck” and Mrs. Eloise Magnusson.

Irwin is a graduate of Rome High School and is employed as a department manager at Lowes Home Improvement Warehouse of Rome.

The groom-elect is the brother of Miranda Vanover of Anniston, Ala., Nicholas Irwin of Alexandria, Ala., Krystal Irwin of Cedartown, Kyle Irwin and Kayleih Wiater of Rome, and Alexandra Wiater of Rochester, N.Y.  He is the grandson of Mary Irwin of Anniston, Ala., the late Marshall F. Irwin Sr. and the late LaVaughn Eugene & Kim Cha Cram.

The double-ring ceremony will be performed Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Spring Lake Events in Rockmart with reception to follow. Formal invitations have been sent.
