Work Release Program members from Floyd County Prison were out at the historic Fairview School site on Padlock Mountain on Saturday helping to clear kudzu vines and clean up trash. The school has also recently been the beneficiary of donations, including a $5,000 from Wesley Walraven and Brian Moore. E.S. Brown-Fairview School Heritage Foundation executive director Joyce Perdue Smith said both the help with the cleanup and the donations came at the perfect time to help structurally secure the site.
