A Florida man remained in jail without bond Friday on numerous charges after an incident police said occurred at Regions Bank, 400 Turner McCall Blvd.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Police were called to Regions after a man tried to cash an allegedly forged check for more than $1,400.

When an officer asked the man for identification, he fled to the front door, which was locked. The man then hit the door, breaking glass that will cost $750 to replace.

The arresting officer put the suspect in a tactical hold and held him to the ground while waiting for backup.

The report said bank customers “were extremely frightened by the accused’s actions.”

William Early Padilla, 52, of Fort Myers, Fla., was arrested and charged with second degree criminal damage to property, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and two counts of first degree forgery.
