The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Coosa Room of the Rome-Floyd County Library on Riverside Parkway.
“We’ll have experts on hand to take questions and walk folks through the tax preparation process,” said Graves, R-Ranger. “When the government writes a tax code with four million words, citizens deserve some free help.”

The IRS will help prepare the following forms at the workshops: 1040 EZ; 1040 A and non-complex 1040 forms.
Individuals seeking tax preparation help need to bring the following forms: W2 forms, 1099 forms, interest statements, any non-taxable statement, such as Social Security disability statements, any record of income of any kind and expense deductions, such as home mortgage interest statements.
Those with dependents should have full names and Social Security numbers.
Berry College students will be providing free tax aid during tax season on Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Berry’s Campbell School of Business, Green Hall, Room 109.

The AARP also offers free tax assistance at the Charles C. Parker Center at Etowah Park on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m., and at the Rome-Floyd County Library, Mondays from 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
