Berry Lady Vikings win lacrosse opener

Kristian Dziurzynski scored seven goals and passed for two assists as Berry defeated Young Harris College, 20-9.

The game was the season-opener for Berry. YHC dropped to 0-3.

Berry scored 11 of the game’s first 12 goals and led 14-3 at the half. Blair Shupenko and Rachel Aiken both tallied three times for the home club. Sara Witten added two goals and one helper for the Vikes.

Taylor Martin had five saves for the Vikings. BC led in draw controls, 16-14.

Berry opens Southern Athletic Association play on Saturday when Birmingham-Southern visits for a 1 p.m. match.
