A Rome man was released from jail Tuesday on a $7,900 bond after his arrest for allegedly pointing a gun at another person.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Demeatrice Deshawn Askew, 21, of 209 Paris Drive, also had marijuana on him when Floyd County police arrested him on Dellwood Drive on Monday night.

He is charged with felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and misdemeanor crimes of driving without a license, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, pointing or aiming a gun or pistol at another, possession and carrying a concealed weapon without a license.
