Area students earn scholastic honors

The following area students were named to the president’s and dean’s lists at Mercer University for the fall 2012 semester. Inclusion on these lists requires students to meet rigorous grade-point-average standards specific to their school within the university:

Cameron Smith of Rome, a senior, was named to the president’s list and dean’s list of the College of Liberal Arts.

Chase Tolbert of Rome, a freshman, was named to the president’s list and dean’s list of the College of Liberal Arts.

Sarah Stallins of Rome, a junior, was named to the president’s list and dean’s list of the Tift College of Education.

Abbey Evans of Silver Creek, a freshman, was named to the president’s list and dean’s list of the College of Liberal Arts.

Gadsden State Community College President Raymond W. Staats released the names of full-time local students who earned Fall Semester 2012 honors. 

Briona Poellnitz of Rome was named to the president’s list after earning all As in college-level courses.

Jacob Mitchell of Rome was named to the dean’s list after earning all As and Bs in college-level courses.

Kristen M. Smith of Calhoun was named to the Columbia College dean’s list for the August-December sessions.

To be named to the Columbia dean’s list a student must have completed 12 semester hours in a 16-week period and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a four-point scale.
