The first game saw the Lady Hawks score in four of the five innings, including seven runs through the first three innings.
Kristen Little pitched another complete game shutout, throwing five innings of two-hit ball while striking out seven.
Shorter (7-1) plated a pair in the first on a two run single from Bre Johnson, scoring Kayla Cooper and Jackie Castaneda.
Cooper added a three run double in the third inning, scoring Kendall Johnson, Janell Echols, and Sarah Corn.
Three more runs scored in the fifth inning, with Kendall Johnson connecting on a two-run home run to end the scoring.
Little struck out the first two batters of the fifth, before getting the final out on a pop fly to first base.
The game was called after five innings by the run rule, the second time Shorter has accomplished the feat in two days.
The second game saw the Lady Hawks defeat Indianapolis, 4-2, the seventh-ranked team according to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25 poll.
Indianapolis had defeated No. 1 Valdosta State — the defending national champions — on Feb. 16 as part of the Charger Chillout, 3-2.
Indianapolis scored in the first on a bases loaded walk to take the early 1-0 lead.
The Lady Hawks responded with a pair of runs in the second, with Corn driving in Amanda Dailey and former Rockmart star Kellee Stone with a single.
Corn picked up her third RBI in the third inning, singling in Castaneda.
Cooper hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth to score Kendall Johnson to make the game 4-1.
Indianapolis got one more run on a bases loaded single in the sixth, with one out.
Christina Ezell was able to get a strike out and a pop fly to end the inning with no more runs scoring.
Ezell went all seven innings on the mound, surrendering eight hits but striking out 13 batters.
Shorter got four runs on seven hits – with Corn and Kendall Johnson getting two hits apiece.
Indianapolis got four hits from Erika Goodwin and three from Taylor Russell, but was only able to drive in two runs while leaving 12 runners on base.
Shorter will finish play from UNA tomorrow with another pair of games. The Lady Hawks will play Drury at 11 am, while finishing off the day playing Missouri-St. Louis at 3 pm.

MEN: Berry 13, Augusta 6
In a battle of Vikings, Berry men’s lacrosse prevailed, 13-6, against Augustana (Ill.) on Saturday afternoon at Ford Field. BC scored nine of the game’s final 11 goals.
BC stretched its record to 2-0 for the first time in the program’s three-year history. Berry led at halftime, 5-4.
Max Smerka’s three-goal, one-assist performance included a behind-the-back shot with 11:23 left the fourth quarter, putting Berry up by a 10-4 margin.
WOMEN: Berry 14,
Birmingham-Southern 13
Kristan Dziurzynski scored seven goals and had one one assist as Berry College defeated Birrmingham-Southern, 14-13, on Saturday. The match was the first Southern Athletic Association game for both teams.
Berry improved to 2-0 and 1-0 in the SAA. BSC is now 1-1 and 0-1.
Rachel Aiken (3) and Blair Shupenko (2) also had multi-goal performances. Elizabeth Flatt and Claire Rosenberg each claimed a goal and an assist apiece.
Berry trailed, 10-6, at halftime. The Vikes gained momentum with four unanswered goals to tie the game.
Berry led by three points with less than two minutes left before allowing two Panther goals. Yet the Vikings won the game’s last draw and ran out the clock in the last minute.
Berry hosts Ferrum College next Thursday at 2 p.m.
