Storage items sold in error, woman's possessions auctioned off

A Floyd County storage facility is in the process of buying back a client’s items after they were auctioned off in error, police say.

According to Floyd County police, a Rome woman found her unit at Walker Mountain Storage missing its lock as well as everything inside when she checked it on Sunday. She called police, who began their investigation and discovered the unit had been auctioned off by mistake because of a computer error.

Police say the business will retrieve the woman’s items.

Were the items really auctioned off because of a "computer error" or was it really an error in computer data input? Computers don't make errors. Programmers and data input folks do make errors.

Really? Do you truly believe that computers do not make errors? They do. Input can be made in error as well, but computers and software are not failsafe.
