ROME, Ga. – Several Berry College Theatre Company students have been honored by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival adjudicator for their contributions to the recent production of “Letters to Sala.”

Benson Phinazee, a junior from Ellerslie, Ga., received the design and technology award for his scenic design in “Letters to Sala,” which was performed last fall. Phinazee received a two week, all-expenses paid, intensive at the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas.

Several other Berry students were nominated to compete at the next American College Theatre Festival including Amanda Featherstone, of Largo, Fla., JoBeth Crump, of Rome, Mindee Patterson, of Cleveland, Tenn., Spencer Miller of Atlantic Beach, Fla., Allie Southwood of Powder Springs, Ga., Amanda Johnson of Rex, Ga., and Heather Pharis, of East Dublin, Ga.

The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival is a national theater program involving 18,000 students from colleges and universities nationwide which has served as a catalyst in improving the quality of college theater in the United States.
