The Republican National Committee’s database is in error when it targets me as an activist for the Republican agenda as I have no affiliation with any local Republican group or organization.
My political beliefs and understanding of the nation’s needed reforms are not consistent with the Republican agenda, and I would not presume to know the beliefs of other voters, nor to represent voters in my district. That is what the ballot is for. Besides, many polls have been taken on the issues contained in the survey, and when the results were contrary to the Republican agenda, the public’s interests were dismissed.
The Republican Party’s agenda is obvious, and it serves special interests first and foremost. To be fair, the Democratic Party serves many of the same interests, but not to the same extent.
In the past, some Republicans voiced the belief the national debt was not a problem because we owe the debt to ourselves. We now hear talk about cutting the deficit, but I have not heard anyone speak about eliminating the deficit.
The Republican Party has become a rogue party that hides behind the mantra of saving the nation from debt and disaster while favoring power and wealth to the detriment and impoverishment of growing numbers of the working classes.
Since the New Deal’s enactment during Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidency, there has been intent and attempts by special interests to abolish working classes’ gains from the New Deal.
There are no simple, immediate solutions to the nation’s economic problems. Without public demand for meaningful change, the Democratic Party alone cannot — and the Republican Party will not — make necessary choices and decisions.
The political and economic power of Wall Street, the banking industry and megacorporations presently dictate the political agenda.
I agree the Republicans and Tea Party types are a rogue party.
