A Gordon County resident is charged with five counts of felony child molestation.

Steven McDonald, 39, of Ranger was arrested and charged with five counts of child molestation and aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery.

McDonald was the subject of a three-month investigation after the sheriff’s department received a report of child molestation against a victim under the age of 16 on December 1, 2012.

The events are alleged to have taken place between December 2009 and December 12, according to a press release from the Gordon County Sheriffs office.

The sheriff’s department isn’t releasing any more information at this time because the case is still open, but McDonald remained in Gordon County Jail.
