If you wanted to sell some stuff you don’t need anymore at Saturday’s Redneck Rummage Sale at State Mutual Stadium, you are out of luck. But there will be plenty to buy.

“This is the quickest we have sold out (of space),” said Mike Dunn, general manager of the Rome Braves, which sponsors the event.

But there’s still time to buy someone’s else stuff at the sale, sponsored by the Rome Braves but you may want to get there early.

The event draws between 8,000 and 10,000 shoppers, Dunn said. They’ll find furniture, clothing, household items and even some antiques at the semi-annual event.

Gates open at 7 a.m. and will remain open until 2 a.m.

Admission to the sale is $5 per carload. The money raised will go to help different local charities.

Dubbed the 8.5 annual Redneck Rummage Sale because it takes place twice a year, the event will also feature Thunderbolt Patterson playing everything from classic rock to blues. Live music begins at 7 a.m.

Also featured is “the world’s greatest Bloody Mary Maker.”

Those who miss getting in on this sale should hold on to their stuff a little longer and there will be another chance to sell it again.

A smaller version of the Redneck Rummage sale is expected to take place toward the end of June, Dunn said.

Also on Saturday, single-game tickets go on sale for Rome Braves’ 2014 season.

The Rome Braves’ home opener will be April 6 against the Savannah SandGnats with the first pitch at 7 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m.

There will be a fireworks display after the game.
