Traffic was briefly snarled Thursday afternoon on Turner McCall Boulevard at Fifth Avenue after a wreck involving a white Buick LaCrosse and a silver Nissan Maxima.

Rome police officer Hank Jackson said the driver of the Nissan was cited for running a red light.

One person was taken to the hospital, Jackson said. Traffic was moving smoothly by 2:10 p.m.
