Rome woman charged with DUI, possession of drugs

A Rome woman is facing several charges after a wreck Sunday afternoon, according to a Rome police report.

According to the report:

Sandra Louise Williams, 50, of 116 Burnett St., Rome, caused a wreck by following another vehicle too closely near the intersection of Shorter Avenue and Division Street around 2:34 p.m. Sunday.

Police found a Schedule IV drug, Soma, in her possession.

Williams is charged with possession of a Schedule IV drug, failure to keep drugs in their original container, driving with a suspended license, DUI and following too closely.

She remained in jail Sunday evening.
