Rome police say they are investigating a Monday afternoon shooting on Lucille Avenue.

No one was injured in the shooting, which occurred off Lavender Drive, Capt. Paul Greene said.

The incident happened about 6:15 p.m. Witnesses told police two suspects shot at a vehicle, from which shots were returned, Greene said.

“However, we can find no suspects, no victims and no cooperating witnesses that can tell us what was going on,” the captain added.

Officers found a damaged home nearby, but they don’t know if it was hit in Monday’s shooting, Greene said.

Evidence was collected at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
