Update: Approximately 3,180 Georgia Power customers in Rome were still without power Tuesday afternoon as crews continued to repair blown transformers or downed power lines. Cedartown had about 3,900 customers without power while Summerville had 838.

The company was hoping to have power restored to all customers in Northwest Georgia by midnight, according to spokesman Brian Green.

Green said that at the storm's peak - around 6 p.m. Monday - there were about 9,700 Rome customers without power.

The family of James Agan will no longer be receiving friends at his brother's house on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will now receive visitors at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel.

More information has been released about the death of Cave Spring resident James Agan, who died as a result of his injuries as a result of a wreck on Cave Spring Road Monday evening.

Polk County Deputy Coronor Tony Brazier said Agan was extricated at the scene in Polk County by Cave Spring Police and Redmond EMS officials and received immediate medical attention.

He was rushed to Floyd Medical Center and made it to the Operating Room, but died during surgery.

Correction: the family of James Agan will be receiving friends on Wednesday night

More information has been made available about storm victim James Agan, who died Monday night of injuries caused by the storm.

According to the Polk Fish Wrap, Cedartown firefighters also assisted Polk County Volunteer firefighters the fatal crash on Cave Spring Road, which killed Agan.

Agan suffered fatal injuries when a tree fell on his vehicle, according to officials.

Polk County Safety Director Randy Lacey said Agan's son, who was in the vehicle at the time of the accident, sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Agan was a 65-year-old Cave Spring resident. Services are planned for Thursday at 2 p.m. at Old Nazareth Baptist Church on County Road 29 in Cherokee County, Ala.

His family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at his brother's home, Kenneth and Shirley Agan, 21 David Drive, Cave Spring.

Also according to Floyd County Emergency Management deputy director Tim Herrington via National Weather Service officials, storm damage in Silver Creek was caused by straight line winds and not a tornado.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service are sending officials to areas of storm damage today including Silver Creek in the aftermath of Monday night's storms.

Floyd County Emergency Management deputy director Tim Herrington said this morning officials are still unsure what caused the damage to homes and destroyed the Silver Creek Mini Mart: straight line winds or a tornado.

He said GEMA officials would determine whether to declare the area a disaster because major damage was limited to a small area.

"We were fortunate that the storm came in and moved out pretty fast," Herrington said.

Down in Polk County, some residents are being advised to boil their water until further notice. From The Polk Fish Wrap:

This includes the Felton Community, Highway 27 South, south of Dugdown Mountain Road and in and around Bethlehem Church Road.

This does not include the city of Cedartown, Rockmart or Aragon.

Polk County Coroner Trey Litesey has identified the man killed when a tree toppled onto his car during Monday nights storm as James Agan of Rome.

Litesey was unsure of the victims age or specific address early Tuesday morning.

The tragedy occurred on Old Highway 100 between Cave Spring and Cedartown.
