Two Cedartown men charged in separate child molestation cases

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men this week on warrants in separate child molestation cases.

According to Polk County Jail docket reports, George Edward Prince, 44, of 195 Patton St., Cedartown, was arrested June 25 by sheriff’s deputies serving a warrant.

Prince is charged with cruelty to children in the first degree, aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, aggravated assault, rape and also for failure to appear in Superior Court. He remains in the Polk County Jail.

Deputies made another arrest the same day on a separate warrant. They arrested James William Hood, 59, of 942 Shiloh Road, Cedartown.

Hood faces a multiple charges, according to the jail docket report. Charges include 10 counts of child molestation, two counts of aggravated sodomy, two counts of sexual battery, cruelty to children in the first degree, enticing a child for indecent purposes, furnishing alcoholic beverages to someone under 21 years of age, 10 counts of rape and 10 counts of incest.

Hood remains in the Polk County Jail.
