Children returned to Montessori School of Rome today for the first day of school.

Unity Christian School students went back to class Thursday. Over the past two weeks, students at Rome and Floyd County schools, as well as those at St. Mary's, Berry College Elementary and Middle and Georgia School for the Deaf have started school.

The last local schools to start are the Darlington schools, which go back Monday. A ribbon cutting for Darlington's new Middle School will be held in conjunction with the start of the new school year.
