NEW YORK (AP) — Two men carrying Mexican flags ran into the outfield during the seventh inning of the New York Mets' game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night at Citi Field.
The men were apprehended by security fairly quickly without much incident.
Before the game, about 40 demonstrators across the street from the ballpark protested Arizona's immigration law, chanting "Oppose racism!" and "Boycott Arizona!"
Others stationed closer to the subway exit handed out leaflets that requested Major League Baseball move next year's All-Star game out of Phoenix.
"It's not going to distract me. I'm here to play baseball," Diamondbacks interim manager Kirk Gibson said after his team's 9-6 victory over the Mets. "You have an opinion, I have an opinion. They have the right to say what they want, but it's no distraction."

My spouse travels some and carries copies of her passport and other stuff in more that one location while traveling. Side note: I am boycotting airlines poor treatment of their customer passengers so refuse to fly.
Even as a natural born citizen I too have no problem with showing documentation.
They're "making a big song and dance in Arizona" and everywhere to ward off any US authority right to question them on their illegal citizen status so they can continue to do it. Both sides of the issue have valid points but I lean towards stronger measures to stop illegals from entering and staying. In some countries those invading would be shot at the fence. American soldiers once shot North Koreans swimming to South Korea and it wasn't even logged. We should be able to shoot people breaking into our country. If they want to come in then knock on the door and ask.
Maybe you just need to head back down to Mexico with the rest of the bandito's, crooks, and theives, and go wave your Mexican flag down there!
If you are not going to wave the American flag in this country, then go back to wherever you came from! And I don't care where that is! The rest can go to jail as far as I am concerned!
I happen to only hate lawbreaking criminals who get special favortism, which I have to help pay for.
Since this isn't a protest against patriotism or nationalism, and only about white people, those evil locusts, and their desire to rid the world of those with darker skin, why the Mexican flag?
Since anti-immigration people don't really care about nationalities, and would LOVE to have illegal immigrants flood the country as long as they are lily white and speak English, and this has NOTHING to do with hispanics coming into our country illegally and then telling those who are here legally that we need to shut up and change our country to suit their needs and demands, why the Mexican flag?
OH, they're protesting the Arizona Law. The law that, according to that racist news organization CNN, says "Arizona's law orders immigrants to carry their alien registration documents at all times and requires police to question people if there's reason to suspect they're in the United States illegally. It also targets those who hire illegal immigrant laborers or knowingly transport them." Even though the law forbids racial profiling, opponents are worried police might just do it any way.
So if a hispanic appearing male is wandering the streets carrying a Mexican Flag and proclaiming his allegiance to Mexico, would that be reasonable suspicion to wonder if maybe, just maybe he is in the country legally? And if so, would a 2 minute "hey man, are you here legally? Yep, here's my license, papers, etc" REALLY be that big of a deal? The ONLY people this law hurts are illegal immigrants.
If you don't want to be treated like a criminal, don't break the law.
Your biggest problem is that all that hatred will make you so bitter that you will become unemployable.
And Hoyt, there's nothing in this story that says or even suggests that they are illegals. If you were a dark-skinned, American-born resident, you'd be concerned about your civil liberties too.
This isn't about protecting those without rights...just the opposite, actually.
