He has been a business executive, pastor, denominational leader, national radio talk show host and speaker, and was the founding president of one of the world’s largest missions organizations, the North American Mission Board, where he served for nine years.
While at NAMB he oversaw disaster relief ministries in America through the crises of 9/11 and the horrible Gulf Coast hurricanes of 2004/2005.
Reccord has spoken at college football and NFL chapels, FCA, business conferences, young leader summits and marriage conferences. He is an avid hunter, scuba diver, outdoorsman and has paraglided off the Swiss Alps.
As president and founder of Total Life Impact Ministries and executive director of the Council for National Policy in Washington, Reccord challenges people on multiple fronts to make their life count. He recently spoke to military related men in Germany, will be speaking at the Billy Graham Cove conference center this summer and has been asked to be the keynote speaker for the NRA’s prayer breakfast at the 2013 national conference in Houston, Texas.
Also during the event, Rome’s Earl Tillman will receive the Hugh Burnes Christian Service Award. It is given each year to someone who lives a life of humble service to God and to our community.
Tillman is commander of Civil Air Patrol where he teaches leadership skills to adults and young people and participates in search and rescue missions. He’s a certified flight instructor and uses those skills at Tillman Aviation University to provide high quality, safe, real-world, fun and exciting flight instruction to those who want to learn to fly. As a pilot he has made emergency flights for families in need and works with local Boy Scouts to obtain aviation badges. He has been a member of First Baptist Church of Rome since 1985 where he has served in many capacities including deacon, Sunday School and Bible study teacher, chair of the Ushers Committee, Chair of Personnel Committee and Social Committee member.
