The turning point:
Cory Brownsten capped an out-of-nowhere rally by delivering a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Braves to a victory.
The first two batters of the inning both struck out before Chase Anselment drew a walk,
followed by Brandon Drury’s single that set the stage for Brownsten’s game-winner.
Who did what for Rome: Robby Hefflinger went 3-for-4 with a solo
homer, and William Beckwith and Brandon Drury had two hits each.
On the mound: Rome starter Greg Ross worked seven strong innings, allowing two runs on five hits, and reliever David Peterson pitched the final two innings.
Game notes: The Braves took over sole possession of first place in the Southern Division’s second-half standings by improving to 5-1 since the All-Star break.
