Sgt. Daniel Pendley has been promoted to lieutenant, and investigator Ojilvia Lom has been promoted to sergeant investigator, according to Floyd County Police Chief Bill Shiflett.

According to a news release:

Pendley joined the Floyd County Police Department in August 2000.  He has been assigned to the uniform division and investigation division. He was promoted to sergeant of the uniform division in July 2007 and later transferred those responsibilities to the investigation division as evidence and crime scene technician.

Pendley’s responsibilities will be supervision of the department’s field training program, updating recertification and maintenance of Department of Public Safety permit for the operation of speed detection devices, supervision and evaluation of school resource officers, and he will serve as backup coordinator and system technician for department computer systems

Lom joined the Floyd County Police Department in November 2001. She has been assigned to the uniform division and Investigation Division before being promoted. Her responsibilities as sergeant investigator will be to supervise and direct assigned staff and identify patterns and developing trends of crime activity.

“Both officers are very deserving of the promotions and will be an essential part of the administrative staff,” Shiflett said.
