Doss, representing Samson Developers, was also given an extension approval from the city of Rome for a memorandum of understanding to purchase the property to March 10, 2013. Jan. 2, 2013, was the original date.
Plans call for a hotel on the 2.2 acres that formerly housed the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority office.
