Brugg Cable’s plant off U.S. 27 south of Rome is where pretty much all of the metal continuous cable is being made for the 70 elevators in Tower One of the new World Trade Center. There will eventually be six towers to replace the original twins — take that, those who would like to see this country come down.
Brugg and Rome, because of the logistical advantages of the supply lines for this project for the Swiss international conglomerate, will be contributing 826,000 feet of braided cable for those elevators that can travel at 2,000 feet a minute.
That’s really, really neat not only for Brugg (and those employed there locally) but for this entire community to know.
