A Silver Creek man was arrested late Tuesday and charged with possession of a destructive device in connection with a hand grenade found at a local convenience store in April, police said.

Investigator Jeff Jones identified the suspect as Richard Aubrey Garrett III, 34, of Silver Creek.

Jones said Garrett was already in the Floyd County Jail on an unrelated charge.
