Rome native Davilyn Williams’ gospel play about relationships and growing pains comes to the Rome City Auditorium July 14.

“For Better or For Worse?” takes a candid look at those personal relationships we have with each other and with God.

The show’s cast is currently in rehearsals for the upcoming production.

“This stage play delivers a timely message about love, relationships and the grace of God,” Williams said. “Not only does ‘For Better or for Worse?’ infuse great acting and soul-stirring music, it brings about an opportunity to connect with God in a unique way.”

The play stars Rome natives LaTonya Fuller and Kevin Wright as The Kirklands, a couple married for nearly a decade who find themselves at a crossroads in their marriage.

Joining the cast are Shederricka Braziel-Moore of Rockmart, Keonna Shaw of Rome, Felicia Key of Cedartown, Jessica Dennis of Cartersville, Kenya Robbins of Rome, Shari Whatley of Rome, Alegna Williams of Rockmart, Ahmad Hall, of Adairsville and Justin Williams, a native of Rockmart.

“ ‘For Better or For Worse?’ brings together such a talented cast who are happy to bring this stage play to their hometown,” said Williams, who directs the play as well. “I believe through this stage play, God has a message for everyone. I am a product of Rome and I feel blessed to join some of the most talented actors this area has produced to glorify and edify God through performing arts.”

Tickets are $10, $20 and $35 and are on sale through July 13. For ticket information call (770) 548-1696.

Doors open at 6 p.m. the night of the performance and the show begins at 8 p.m.
