The RFPRA Rome Aerials took home plenty of hardware this weekend at the Champions Cup, held in Roswell.

With over 700 gymnasts, the Rome representatives stood strong.

Program coordinator Matt Zollitsch said: “This was a great experience for our athletes. They have trained diligently to reach the top of the mountain. We have taken great strides this past weekend and will continue to climb.”

Here are some of the highlights:

Level 9 Team (First place):

Tabatha Pearson — first-place bars, first-place beam, first-place floor, first-place All-Around.

Chloe Schuttinga — third-place bars, third-place floor, fifth All-Around

Level 7 Team:

Carol Anne Dempsey — Scored a team high 36.575, earned first place on Vault, first place on Floor, and third place All-Around.

Also, the Level 5 team and Level 4 team each took second place in their divisions.

The Rome Aerials will travel to Dallas this weekend to compete in the “Mardi Gras Invitational” held by Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta.

Recreational classes are open for registration year-round, as team tryouts will be held in May.
