CENTRE, Ala. — According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, an inmate at the Cherokee County Detention Center was discovered unresponsive in his cell Friday morning.
Cherokee County Coroner Broderick Smith later pronounced Ronald Atkins, 50, of Centre dead, Shaver said.
