For the 62 years I’ve lived in the Jamestown subdivision, ducks have always roamed the neighborhood. Our little neighborhood backs up to a lake and there have always been ducks and geese here.

Some years we are more duck-populated than others and this does seem to be one of those years. There have also been complaints about the large population of squirrels we have and the deer that walk down our streets at night.

I agree there’s no way to have a pristine lawn when creatures are wandering through it but personally I enjoy watching all of these animals and have never considered any of them a nuisance.

Living in the country when I was very young probably has something to do with this. But to be fair, it would probably be good to make sure that people who are considering moving to this neighborhood are aware that creatures wander through the yards and have been doing so for well over 65 years.
