IN RESPONSE to the July 9 editorial titled “Setting the standard,” we want to thank the Rome News-Tribune for the appreciation it gave to Rome/Floyd County Fire Chief (Retired) Bobbie McKenzie.

We are so proud of our husband and father for the legacy he has left. He loved the fire department, Mount Berry School, Brothers Sunday Class at Calvary Baptist Church and the Masons. He also loved his community and people of all walks of life. We thank Rome and Floyd County for the admiration shown to Bobbie during his life. You have shown us much love and respect that you had for Bobbie.

Thank you so much Rome and Floyd County.
