THERE COMES a time in our lives when we must speak up and step out and take a stand. We have a president in the White House who has given it his all. He stepped into a situation that no other president in the history of this country has had to deal with.

I shudder to think of where we would be today if Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin had won the 2008 election. When the negative powers that be realized Barack Obama had won the election, they began the scheme to break him anyway they could. They did not care about the big mess already existing in our country. The group stated that they would never support anything that this president stood for no matter whether it was right or wrong good or bad. They behaved as if they had been trained by the Iraqis in the tactics of how to behave as suicide bombers. These forces admit that that was their mission, and yet in the midst of all that President Obama still stands with pride and dignity. They have been unable to break his spirit.

Those of us who supported him and those who did not must realize that we have watched a ‘stoning’ for three and a half years and said nothing and did nothing. Many Christians who criticized those who stoned Stephen in the Bible have not equated this likeness to President Obama’s degrading and dehumanizing treatment by the extremist. Why? Are we experiencing compassion fatigue?

Listen up Yellow Dog Democrats, the stick your head in the sand Democrats, the don’t want to stand with the President Democrats, all of the I know right from wrong people, and other decent minded people of Rome and Floyd County isn’t it now time that we crawl out of our closets. Is your petty opinion, based on your selfish motives, (only you and your God know what they are) bigger than the cause of maintaining the integrity of the White House and of this great country of ours?

What is the picture that we are painting or revealing to the whole world? One thing that the Third World countries are seeing is that the highest office in this country is for sale. Is that what we have become or is that who we really are and that is who we have always been? Or has some kind of decaying process begun to take place in this land of the free and home of the brave? Are we killing ourselves softly in this land of liberty and justice for all?

That other group has no idea who we ordinary people are. It is no fault of theirs that they cannot connect. It is no fault of theirs that they simply do not get it. It is next to impossible to lead a people with whom there is no connection. That is why we have failed in every war for the past 50 years because we had no understanding of the people that we said we were fighting for in those other countries.

The problem is in us when we can sit idly by and not call attention to the disconnect. You all do know that all ordinary people bleed red blood, cry when hurt and laugh when happy? You do know that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link?

And there are those who are happy and applaud the fact some of us are sitting idly by. With that being the case, how can we oversee elections in Third World countries? What will we tell them? I agree with Ron Paul who suggests that we need to pull our troops out of every country and get our own hearts and minds in the right place so that we can change the atmosphere in our own country. And we know that the atmosphere will not change until our hearts have been changed by the Holy Spirit. God bless America!

LiedToAgainAndAgain,

Thanks for proving my point by hurling insults and invective at those disagreeing with your worldview.

That free speech thing must only work when you exercise it. Right?

Obama will still be reelected, Dems will keep the Senate and maybe the House.

If you think i'm wrong then man up and explain how...i welcome a fact based debate.

Wonder what the excuse from the right will be when the voters reject their extreme viewpoint?

WILLIE M. SAMUEL....I read your letter shaking my head in agreement to everything you said. It IS time to take a stand and I plan to do that this November. I really don't understand how anyone could vote for Mr. Romney.....he has proven, again, he has no clue what it is like as a "regular, Middle-class, or even poor" American has to contend with on a daily basis. I personally don't care what religion he is....or President Obama for that matter....I care about this country and our own humanity. Time to bring the troops home and take care of our own....that means 100% of us, not just the 47%.

Still laughing at rhuidean07 acting pious and proper.

Dude, you go out of your way to assault, intimidate, stalk and harass people on a daily basis like soon2bmimi said.

You're a jerk, and get your thrills out of your bigoted and racist statements that you regularly make.

There's a major difference in civil discussion and disagreeing, and what you preach, which is hatred, mockery, stalking and scorn.

The RNT is a private business and has the RIGHT to establish their user rules for others to follow. When you CHOOSE to be the bigot and attacker that you are, they have the right to remove you as a user and to delete your posts.

Stand outside your house and say what you want, but go to someones private business and attack and assault, they have the right to remove your butt and can make sure that you can't get within a 100 ft of their business.

Cry me a river over freedoms...We also have the right to not be stalked and attacked by jerks like you on a business sight.

In your own playground bully words that you've used before, "waah waah."

Soon2bmimi,

You really do not get my point do you? I think ALL religion is mythology and superstition.

However I am convinced that watching Christians who routinely refer to the Mormon faith as a cult doing contortions to justify voting for Mitt Romney is germane to this thread.

Right wing christians routinely call Democrats and atheists vile disgusting names...I do not whine....Why must you?

My comment was accurate...Mormons venerate the Angel Moroni and wear specific undergarments in temple. Viola....Magic underwear....No slurs just accurate factual data.

Why is it every time any people of faith lose a political debate you want to silence your opponents?

President Obama is not President Carter..The analogy is weak and only allows you to feel better.

So if you want to debate the differences between a sitting president and a pathological liar candidate then lets get to it.

Frankly your continual wailing to ban anyone who disagrees with you is UN- American.

Have you ever heard of Joseph McCarthy and the "House Select Committee on Un American Activities?

They would really like you.

Intelligence. What a concept? Unfortuantely that, along with reality, is a four letter word these days.

So the answer to all the evil that Obama has done is to vote for the man with the magic underwear. Really? You want our government to be run like a business when it is not a business, as much as corporate America tries to make it. So we should hire a guy (Yes hire, we're a business now remember? Only the board members can vote) who has done nothing but run holding companies. Holding companies purchase existing businesses, strip them down to sections, sell them out, and ship them off. Oh yeah, and send all the workers to the unemployment line. Neither side is perfect, but, by the flying spaghetti monster, Obama is the lesser of the 2 evils. Just like, unfortunately, during Bush's 2 elections, he was the lesser of the two evils, or, should I say, the "smarter" of two dummies.

LiedToAgainAndAgain,

Thank you for my daily laugh.

You detail all the Democratic President's supposed faults in wonderful detail.

I also remember Carter and while he was a flawed president he was an honest man.

Reagan ran up the largest deficit at that time in American history during his 2 terms. He sold arms for hostages in Iran Contra and was senile at the end.

Bush 2 along with Cheney and Rumsfeld lied to the nation to go to war in Iraq. Got thousands of our sons and daughters killed in the process, Ran up a bigger deficit than even Reagan and then crashed the economy...

Yeah baby....Republicans RULE.......Not.

Now you advocate for the follower of the angel Moroni and his magic underwear.

This is the same idiot who accuses 47% of Americans of being lazy, mooching government check lovers.

Included in that 47% are veterans like me who get a retirement check each month....Funny i thought I earned that money with 30 years of service....

Obama is going to crush Romney.. Democrats will keep the Senate and have an excellent change of taking the house..

America is about to speak and give you your answer no matter what you want the question to be.

I remember Jimmy Carter....and that's a bad thing...nothing nice about Jimmy Carter, the president, to remember.

I always felt like Jimmy Carter, unlike the perverted and lying Bill Clinton, was a good man, and had a good heart...His intentions were good, and he was honorable. His Habitat For Humanity was a great cause, and he practiced what he preached, for the most part.

However, well intentioned people people aren't always competent people...far from it. Intentions might be good, but they're just not up to the job. Example, a mechanic might try to save your life, but he's not a trained medical professional...Just so much that they can do, and sometimes they might do more harm than good. Same way with Jimmy Carter.

What do I recall about Carter?

1. I recall out of control inflation, at a 20% plus rate, eating through lower income earners money, destroying the lives of those on fixed incomes....and Carter didn't have an answer for it.

2. I recall price freezes put into place in grocery stores, etc., trying to put the brakes to Carter's out of control runaway inflated prices. Didn't work well, and was a joke of a policy...and Carter didn't have the answer.

3. I recall gasoline shortages, and having to buy several large gas cans to put in my truck, heading off to Florida for a family funeral, and not knowing whether or not I'd be in an area that was "out of gas."....and Carter didn't have the answer.

4. I recall the destruction of the housing industry, whereby building new homes came to a halt due to home mortgage rates hitting 22%....and Carter didn't have the answer.

5. I recall the impossibility of getting a home loan approved, and the shut down of our lending system...and Carter didn't have the answer.

6. I recall my salary being "frozen," and not getting a raise or increase in salary due to experience for several straight years....and Carter didn't have the answer.

7. I recall the cutting of military spending, and the liberal-led attacks against our own armed forces during this time...Our enemies in the Middle East looked at us with derision, and looked upon us from a position of weakness with a weak-kneed president, leading to the hostage situation...and Carter didn't have the answer.

8. I remember the Democrats leading the way with military budget cuts, and the resulting job losses and layoffs at GE, Lockheed, Boeing., etc....and Carter didn't have the answer.

9. I remember Carter giving "blanket amnesty" to every single draft dodger who had burned our flag, shot a bird at our country, and left our country for Canada and elsewhere....Why, Jimmy, did you denigrate the service and the sacrifices made by so many brave and beautiful American boys who proudly served?...and Carter didn't have the answer.

And then the "answer" came in the election of Ronald Reagan.

Bill Clinton lied and gave his spin at the Democratic Convention when he said "No one could possibly solve all of this in just four years."

Like Ronald Reagan's son said afterward, "Sorry, Bill...but Dad did it in two."

Do America a favor...remove Barrack Obama.

I remember Jimmy Carter....Barrack Obama is not the answer.

If Obama is the "answer," I don't want to hear the question.

Romney/Ryan in 2012.
