Man charged with theft of vehicle

A Rome man was arrested Tuesday and charged with theft after he allegedly took a woman’s vehicle without permission.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

John Clifford Carter, 42, of 17 Mark St., was arrested by Floyd County deputies around 10 a.m. He was charged with felony theft by taking after warrants stated that Carter took a 1986 GMC Jimmy without the owner’s permission.

He remains in jail without bail.
