A convenience store clerk told police that $2,796 was taken from the store while she was in the restroom, according to a report at the Rome Police Department.

According to the police report:

The clerk said she asked a customer to watch the Citgo Quickmart located at 1928 Shorter Ave. at 2:49 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, while she went to the restroom.

The customer told police that a man came in, and she went to the game room and didn’t see him.

When the women returned, they discovered that the money was missing.

My apologies, I re-read the address location, and this is not the citgo on Turner Mccall, which I was referring to. It is another citgo with gambling in the back.

Sounds fishy to me. Who's to say the person "watching" the register while the clerk was away didn't have something to do with the theft?

Most likely, it was one of our board of education members, a great lady, she tutors the young son of the family who run the store. Unfortunatly she also has a lottery habit and may have begun to gamble on the machines as well. Either way she is a board of education member who very well knows the illegall gambling takes place there, yet does nothing about it.

Here you go, an absolute admission in the

Rome News Tribune that a game room exsists on this property. That game room is why so much money is in the store, they have to pay cash winnnings for the games. The police know this, why don't they stop it?
