If you love movies and want to help a worthwhile organization, you can enjoy both on Feb. 12.

The Exchange Club Family Resource Center will host its 13th annual A Night at the Movies at Rome Cinemas in West Rome.

All proceeds will benefit the Family Resource Center.

The organization’s goal is to provide education and support services to families in Floyd County in order to strengthen the parenting and life skills of the parents and to prevent child abuse and neglect within the families.

They do so through several methods including parent aide services, visitation services and divorcing parents seminars.

According to a news release, Rome Cinemas and the Rome Hospitality Association are partnering again.

The Hospitality Association is providing the food for the event.

“The fundraiser starts at 6 p.m. with an array of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and cocktails,” said Meredith Brown, event co-chair. “Ticketholders will be able to see one of blockbuster movies at 7:30 p.m.”

Event chair Julia Dent said the movies will be new releases.

Tickets are available by calling the center at 706-290-0764 and the cost is $45 per person, $80 for couples and $40 each for groups of 10 or more.

The Family Resource Center is located at 5 Professional Court.
