The Rome News-Tribune is introducing a new columnist in today’s Our Town section on page 4A.

Len Robbins is the editor and publisher of The Clinch County News in Homerville, and his syndicated newspaper column appears in more than 20 newspapers in Georgia.

Robbins’ columns have a homespun flavor, and today’s column takes a humorous look at notes passed to him in church by his children.

Robbins was recently named to “Who’s Who in Georgia Media” by Georgia Trend magazine and was a finalist in 2007 for Georgia Author of the Year for his book, “The Greatest Book Ever Written About Cheese.”

Robbins also owns and operates two other community newspapers, The Echols County Echo, based in Statenville, and The Lanier County Advocate, in Lakeland.

He is the immediate past president of the Georgia Press Association — the organization that represents the newspaper industry in Georgia.

Robbins is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Clinch County High School.
