Rosie and Caleb Phelps Jr. of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter Lisa Y. Phelps to Charles M. Covington IV, son of Ronnie and Elaine Williams and Charles Covington III.

Miss Phelps is a graduate of Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. She is employed at Coosa Valley Home Health.

The bride-elect is the sister of Deborah Atwater and Donnie Phelps, both of Rome. She is the granddaughter of the late Jesse and Mary Braswell, the late Caleb Phelps Sr. and the late Addie Phelps.

Covington is attending Floyd College. He is employed at Trinity Rails in Cartersville.

The groom-elect is the brother of Stephanie Orr, Angela Brannon and Marlo Covington, all of Rome. He is the grandson of Isaac Ritchey, Dorothy Watters and Ethel Whatley, all of Rome, and the late Douglas Whatley.

The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at Metropolitan United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at Floyd College. Family and friends are invited to attend
