Rome police are investigating an incident where a man used counterfeit currency to purchase food at a local restaurant earlier this week, according to a Rome police report.

According to the report:

A man came into McDonald’s at 1504 Turner McCall Blvd. and bought food with a counterfeit $20 bill. The cashier

took the money and gave the man $11.48 in change, but after he left the store she realized the bill was a fake.

The man then drove through the drive-through and tried to order more food, giving another $20 bill, which the cashier realized was fake. When she confronted the man, he fled in an older model Toyota Camry.

The cashier notified police of the incident, and officers were able to track down a man that fit the description of the culprit, but the man said he hadn’t gone to McDonald’s.

McDonald’s personnel told officers they would provide surveillance footage of the transactions.

Why not check out the guy that was busted for making it bout a year and half so ago , bet hes back at it. Hell why not, when they busted him then he got a slap on the hand. whats up with that. No real jail time or nothing, wow. Burns me up!!!!the da , police etc. pick and choose who they want to lock up in this county, it dont matter the crime, just a matter on who you are around here.... sick it is!! be nice if autorities from elsewhere would check and double check what really goes on in this county, and end all this ass kissing and what not and get the real criminals where they should be along with clean up the whole judicial system while theyre at it. Floyd county maybe better then.

Tip: most criminals are also willing to lie to get out of trouble...
