Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) has awarded Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority (RFPRA) hosting rights for the 2012 Boys & Girls District 5 Basketball Tournaments. Larry Powell, Sports Manager, represented the RFPRA to present the tournament bid at the District 5 Athletic Committee Session. An estimated 28 district teams from Northwest Georgia will attend the tournament which starts Monday, and will run approximately a week. The RFPRA will host district tournament for boys age divisions 9-10, 13-14, and girls age division 9-10. Winning teams at the district level will compete at the state tournaments in March.

The public is invited to attend the games and support our local teams. Games will be held at RFPRA gym facilities and schedules will be posted online at rfpra.com.
