Swimming lessons and public swim at Northside Swim Center

The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority is now registering for Swim Lessons offered at the Northside Swim Center. The best thing children can do to stay safe in and near the water is to learn to swim. Certified lifeguards will teach classes following the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program. Class sessions run two weeks, Monday through Thursday and are offered for ages 6 months and up. Three two-week class sessions will be offered starting June 4 and are $45 a class. Morning and afternoon swim class schedules and descriptions are available online at rfpra.com.

The Northside Swim Center will open for the 2012 swim season Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 26. The pool features a triple loop twirling slide and kid’s splash area. The pool is open to the public 6 days a week: Monday – Saturday from 11 AM – 5 PM. Admission for all ages is $5. Swim season passes are available for $199 (family of 5) and $50 (individual). The pool still has some availabilities for private party rentals which start at $150 for a 2-1/2 hour rental.

we bought the family pass this yr and we will deffintly get our use out of it. the pricw chemical go up and to pay life guards. i think its worth it.

They sure are getting proud of the city pool. Two years ago we bought a family pass for $99.00. Last year the family pass was $150.00. NOW THE PASS IS $199.00. No thank you RFPRA! You have got the last bit of my family's money! This is ridiculous! We can join a private club to swim at for around $250.00. The RFPRA is still out of control.

I do agree prices are going up, but, you have to look at it from a numbers perspective: a FAMILY of 5 only has to go 5 times to pay for the pass. If a FAMILY of 5 goes only 10 times this summer, they would have paid $400.
