“Who let the dawgs out?” The Rome Area Chapter of the University of Georgia Alumni Association enjoyed an evening with other “dawgs” at the Hampton East Pool and Clubhouse as incoming freshman were welcomed into the “Bulldog Nation” at the Rome Area Freshman Send Off Ice Cream Social on Tuesday evening, the Association’s inaugural event of the year. Several of the UGA’s incoming freshman class from the Rome area and their families were welcomed and were able to get acquainted prior to the 2012 fall semester.

Vickie Vincent, Alumni Association Committee member welcomed the incoming freshmen and their families and encouraged their support of the newly formed Rome Area UGA Association. Beth and Gary Smith, Alumni Association members, brought “Millie,” their eight year old bulldog for photo opportunities for all in attendance. “Millie” is now considered the Rome area’s own “Uga!”

Meredith Carr, representing University of Georgia’s Alumni Office and Diane Johnson, representing UGA’s Parent Program were also in attendance to welcome the new students to the University of Georgia! Red and black umbrellas, koozies, UGA pads and pens were given to the new students, class of 2016. The Rome Area Chapter of the University of Georgia Alumni Association would like to welcome any area alumni and/or Bulldog fans by visiting www.alumni.uga.edu or like us on Facebook at “Rome Area Chapter: UGA Alumni Association.” Goooooooo Dawgs!
