But the Darlington Middle School boys golf team managed to accomplish the feat this week.
The team captured its second straight Area championship this week by registering a nine-shot win over second-place Cedar-town in the area tourney at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Cedartown.
Darlington’s Vraj Patel carded a nine-hole 41 to take medalist honors among the 35-player field.
It was the third year in a row Patel has been low medalist in the Area Championship.
Patel previously won the title as a sixth grader and then again as a seventh grader.
Darlington’s Daniel Morris finished with a 46, and Alex Russell and Noah Brown each shot 50 for the Tigers to account for Darlington’s team score.
The team is coached by Kevin Ivester and Chris Holloway.
Team members are Jack Albertson, Zane Anderson, Braxton Ballard, Jamie Beck, Ivy Brandon, Noah Brown, Winston Gammon, Nicholas Jones, Daniel Morris, Vraj Patel, Alex Russell and Hayes Spence.
