Despite an 18-point effort from Chanlir Segarra, the Berry women’s team lost at Hendrix College, 68-66, on Sunday afternoon.

Berry led 55-46 lead with 7:37 remaining after a Segarra layup, but the Lady Vikings saw the advantage slip away down the stretch.

Berry dropped to 10-12 and 5-7 in the Southern Athletic Association.

Tara Mullinax and Megan Walsh both recorded double-doubles. Mullinax had 17 points and 12 rebounds. Walsh added 15 points and 12 boards.

Hendrix improved to 3-20 and 3-9 in the SAA.

“The team accepted the challenges I gave after the last two games, and played tough,” said Berry head coach Stephanie Dunn.

“Our top offensive player took the game-tying shot, but it did not fall today.”

The Lady Vikings next host Oakwood on Tuesday night.
